On 17 September 2019, H.E. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, chaired the Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials, in openended format, with representatives from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). CSO representatives were from the countries of past, present, and future ASEAN Chairs, namely Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam, to exchange views on building an ASEAN Community that is people-centered and leaves no one behind.

            The ASEAN Senior Officials and their representatives were briefed on the outcomes from the ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN Peoples’ Forum (ACSC/APF) 2019 and exchanged views on how CSOs could contribute to the building of the ASEAN Community in the future.

             The Meeting reflected the importance that Thailand as ASEAN Chair attaches to promoting an inclusive process in promoting the ASEAN Chairmanship theme of “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability”.
